What Do Clients Say?

“I highly recommend Paige Hendricks as an educational tutor.  My son with ASD has worked with Paige for 6 months now and really grow in his ability of reading, speaking and writing. Paige is an extraordinary educator.  She is passionate about teaching.  She developed a plan catered to my son's academic needs.   She is also very attentive to my concerns and has worked them into her curriculum for him.  Paige is also very encouraging and positive.  I have nothing but great praise for her.   She is a God-sent angel and a miracle worker.   My son has since able to exchange conversation more than a few rounds.  In fact, he has gained confidence in making conversation, which was something we didn't think could happen before.”  —Nancy C.

“Paige was able to establish a great personal relationship with my daughter and literally became a part of the family, making a huge difference in our lives.  My daughter received special education services throughout her elementary years, which did absolutely nothing to help her progress academically.  It was a complete waste of time and effort, in addition to constant worry about her being able to move to the next grade.  Thousands of dollars wasted for outside assessments, tutors, advocates. With Paige's help, my middle school daughter is now considered to be at grade level in all subject areas and has increased confidence.  We are grateful for Paige's insights and competence, and how she engages our daughter.  My daughter has said, "Please let me keep working with Paige" and "Paige is really helping me!" She feels extremely proud of her academic accomplishments and grades.  We only wish we had found Paige sooner!”  —Inna B.

"When we found Paige and Pathways to Success Tutoring, we had no idea how much our lives would improve. Our son, "B", had been struggling in major parts of his daily life and we were at a loss on how to help him. B had been diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy that degrades his cognitive abilities over time, specifically his working memory and processing speed. He would forget what he had read, what he had been asked to do, what he'd eaten for lunch, IF he had eaten lunch, even what he was talking about mid sentence. I will never forget his 8th birthday when he asked me when he had gotten his new bike. It was that very same day. Every day, little moments like these would break our hearts a bit at a time.

As you can imagine, he struggled academically. When asked to write a book report, he simply couldn't remember what he had read to be able to complete the task. When doing his math, he would forget steps, not finish his work, and he was behind in his memorization of his math facts. He would walk away from projects in class, easily distracted because he just couldn't keep up.  He refused to write, he would lose his train of thought and not know what to write next. He hated to go to school, he cried every morning, and his teachers swept him aside, assuming this was all he was capable of. He thought his teachers were right. His relationships with his peers were impacted. He couldn't stay on track long enough to play a game with other kids, we would find him wandering away to be by himself. He was isolated, anxious and depressed.

Paige changed everything. At her recommendation, we made a list of morning tasks to check off and laminated it. Now he didn't need to rely on his memory to take care of himself! It fostered confidence and independence. She gave him tools to write down thoughts as he went through books or planned an essay, tricks to remember math facts, tricks to separate math problems into manageable bites. Paige sat with him and asked him what he sees in the classroom, what he feels, talked about how to handle distractions, to take stock of his feelings and how to handle those too. She learned he felt disorganized in class and went so far as to get measurements of his desk and provide an organizer. This was such a success, another parent bought the organizer for all the children in the entire class! She taught him coping skills to deal with the memory challenges and how to apply them to different aspects of his every day life.

His confidence skyrocketed! B looked forward to her visits, he talked to her about his feelings and his struggles and he walked away each time more capable than the last. She worked with his teacher and resource teacher to uncover additional areas of concern and coordinate efforts to help him. She worked with us to reinforce these tactics. His grades improved dramatically, he was able to build a group of friends, even a best friend. He wakes up with a smile on his face, ready to take on the day. Paige has never been just a "tutor", she is his friend and coach in ways that other tutors could never be.  She doesn't just focus on the subject and symptoms, she addresses the underlying issues and gives him a tool kit to tackle any subject or scenario. B is thriving and happy and the relief and joy our family feels is palpable and immeasurable.

There are professionals we have gone to for help; doctors, teachers, principals, assessors, occupational therapists, psychological therapists, neuro-psychologists... while many have been helpful in many ways, Paige Hendricks and Pathways to Success has been the most impactful boon we have experienced. The benefits B has experienced since she began have lifted the spirits of everyone in the house and shown us brighter futures. We are so very grateful for her and the work she does. I would recommend her to every parent whose child struggles!” —Melissa V.

“Paige worked with our son for approximately 2 1/2 years and was amazing with him.  Garrett needed general help in all areas and Paige was able to design a program that worked well and covered all subjects.  She is extremely patient and really takes the time to cater the sessions to fit each individual child and his/her needs.  Paige can identify areas of need and address them while using techniques that make the session interesting and fun for your child.  We really appreciated her ability to work and encourage our son no matter what state of mind he happened to be in that day.  Thank you Paige for being the perfect tutor to help Garrett grow and thrive so much these past 2 years!!”  —Stephanie K.

"When my son was in first grade he was struggling with reading.  I found Paige through a mutual friend and began a bi-weekly one hour tutoring session with Patrick.  Paige is amazing!!  She saw through the learning difficulties and recognized my son’s extreme intelligence.  She patiently educated my son with the learning tools he would need to succeed.  She also educated me by giving me insight on how to navigate the school system and get my son the accommodations that would serve to make learning a joy for him again.  My son is now turning 13.  He is an advanced honor student and just finished a 700 page Harry Potter book.  Paige was our miracle!"   Lisa F.

"Paige has been a godsend for my son and for me. I don’t know what we would do without her. My son has been struggling with reading and writing for years, and despite testing at the school and private testing, we were not making any progress. My son suffers from executive functioning and visual processing difficulties and he was reluctant to have a tutor, but at the end of his first session with Paige he had a big smile on his face and said, “She is a very nice lady.” Paige has a very calm and kind demeanor and she listens to her students. She checks in to make sure that my son is comfortable with the challenges she gives him. He is able to confide in her with his struggles at school; Paige is a great sounding board for him as well as an educational therapist. My son has been making steady progress since working with Paige. As I have been struggling to get my son help in school, Paige put together a list of accommodations to advocate for him at school. I know Paige truly cares about my son and not only how he progresses, but how he feels and that means the world to me. I cannot recommend Paige strongly enough."  –Michelle M.

“My students who have worked with Paige have truly benefited from the time she has spent with them.  Paige coordinates well with teachers, parents, and other support providers, as needed, and then works with each child to best meet his/her needs.  She is able to determine the support that the children require, and then provides that support.  The children enjoy spending time with her, and their improved results are apparent.” Ann K. “Our daughter Rose had been diagnosed with ADHD & auditory processing challenges in 1st grade.  We started to notice her struggling with spelling and math, that's when we contacted Paige.  She observed Rose in the classroom and met with her individually before working with her.  Paige became not only our daughters #1 advocate but a wonderful sounding board for us.  She spoke with Rose's teacher and implemented ways of helping her in the classroom.  Paige was instrumental in helping our daughter grasp basic math skills that had been overlooked in the school system.  The tools that Paige gave Rose have helped her immensely, given her confidence and helped her succeed.”  –Alicia B.

“My son was resistant to working with anyone on his reading. Paige was able to reach my son in ways others were not. Her gentle style and patience drew my son out, and she was able to help him develop the fluency and comprehension he needed to be a good reader.  As a result of working with her, he is now a good reader and successful in school.” –Dana B.

"When our daughter talks about Paige Hendricks, she tells people that she is "the teacher that fixed me!"  Our daughter had been struggling in school...embarrassed.  Reading was extremely difficult and math was a concept that eluded her completely.  Paige was able to unlock the chains holding our very smart little girl back by trying different methods and finding the ways that "clicked."  Our family rejoiced when Touch Math and different reading strategies had our daughter proudly exclaiming, "Wow!  I didn't know math was so easy!" and "I didn't know Social Studies was so interesting, but it sure is fun to read!"  Most importantly, Paige has shown and taught our daughter to be her OWN ADVOCATE.  Beyond the schoolwork, Paige would stand beside as our daughter would ask teachers for different desk assignments so she could be closer to the board or ask for a quiet testing corner.  These are life lessons she will need throughout her whole learning career.  Our daughter is now extremely open and teaches others about her dyslexia while all 3'9" of her stands tall & proud that she is mastering her brain that just works a little different." –Gina W.
