In what feels like a former lifetime, I was an elementary classroom teacher.  I was inspired to continue my educational path because of a handful of students who had difficulty with literacy skills despite being bright and trying hard.  Why weren’t they making the same progress as other students?  What could help them achieve success on par with their intelligence?  I went back to graduate school to gain insight and the tools to become more effective at helping students like these.

Fifteen years ago, I left the classroom to start my own tutoring and consulting business.  I have not looked back once!  My decision to exclusively work one-to-one with struggling students has been extremely rewarding as I witness first-hand amazing transformations in children’s attitudes and achievements.

In addition to my teaching credential, I also hold the following advanced degrees:  

• Educational Therapy Board Certification 
• Master’s Degree in Education
• Reading Specialist Credential

Since each child has unique needs, I continually take advanced trainings to expand my repertoire for working with students. I am enthusiastic about creating positive learning experiences for students who have yet to experience success.
